A Nudge Toward the Unknown
How One Unexpected Connection Nudged Jix Toward the Success She Never Saw Coming
Let’s SinC(n)
Reflection Techniques
Why didn’t Jix follow her heart from the start? She knew the answer; red flags were flying all over the place. But she ignored them anyway, only to be connected with Ust, a rival a**hole she couldn’t stand. And yet, in the end, he was exactly the wingman she needed."
The 4 types of self-reflection in Part 2: Genesis of an Imposter, and see examples of how they apply to this story “We are one Species; Happy is the Goal”.
Reflection of Acknowledgment
This technique involves observing and acknowledging the reality of situations without judgment, recognizing both positive and negative aspects.
"Jix had mixed feelings about not being part of the Bluey Group. The hard weaning away from the happy nests she loved, and the countless souls she had touched, tugged at her heart."
Acknowledging the impactful moments in your life or situation brings deeper awareness of who you are. I had that feeling of being tied down, gas lit, no allies, no matter what I did, I couldn’t escape. Most of it was in my head, my ego. I made excuses, convincing myself that I was here for a reason beyond just me. Jix felt the same way, she didn’t put herself first. She used that same reasoning to justify inaction. Here, she recognizes the burden she carried, the high standards she imposed on herself, and the emotional weight of being separated from the Bluey Group she valued deeply. But before you can care for others, you MUST first take care of yourself. Only then can you effectively help those you care about and maintain access to the places you want to be at.
Reflection for Preparation
This technique focuses on mentally preparing for future actions by setting clear goals and planning strategies.
"Jix had planned to use her singing voice, a melody of trumpet-like tones, to attract those aligned with her 'energy'."
Reflecting on past experiences to understand how to approach things can spark ideas on how to use them again; this is at the heart of preparation. Yes, my premonition allowed me to sense negative energies I didn’t favor, and my reflection provided clarity; I was ready. Like Jix, who used her past knowledge, strategized to attract others with her voice, and committed to moving forward despite her injury, showed her readiness to adapt to unknown challenges and form meaningful connections. You just have to decide to commit; trust that your skills and experience will guide you through the void of the unknown. You are already prepared. Trust in your energies. And most importantly, remember to believe; believe in your dreams; believe in you.
Reflection for Solution
This technique is about deeply focusing on problems to generate solutions and strategies.
"Jix made a deal with Ust: she would ask him his biggest problem, and if her answer made him think of solutions, he’d not only walk alongside her to the Diamond Tree but also carry a message for her to the Bluey Group."
Just because a solution works here doesn’t mean it will work there; something I consistently remind myself when seeking answers. I beat in my head, the answer can come from anywhere and from anyone, just focus. Both Jix and Ust reflected on their knowledge and communication to find a solution. Jix engages in reflective problem-solving by analyzing Ust’s challenges and offering strategic solutions based on her expertise. Through their conversation, Ust gains new insights by reflecting on his past approaches and incorporating the new elements he just learned. There are tried-and-true solutions that always work for common issues; if you know them, use them. But there are also problems you just can’t figure out. With a bit of patience and a commitment to solving them, ideas will eventually arise. And if that still feels like it’s not working, talk to someone.
Reflection of Flow
This technique allows the mind to connect various insights and experiences without a strict structure, leading to creativity and new understandings.
"Her energy, channeled through vibrant sound, echoed and bounced off leaves, stems, and branches, as other species looked on in stasis, unable to decide what to do next."
Trusting intuition is a collection of everything you’ve been exposed to. As an overthinker and planner, I feel everything needs to be in its place before taking the first step. But I’ve done this a million times, so if someone asked me to do it now, more than likely it’d be done and will be done right. Jix was especially focused on accomplishing her goals. She entered a state of flow, where her thoughts and actions aligned effortlessly with her surroundings. The unstructured energy of her voice created an inspiring ripple effect, influencing others along the way.
Believe in YOU, know that YOU have the skills.
Everyone sees it but YOU. Everyone feels it but YOU. It’s time to embody YOU; all of YOU.
Then go help someone do the same.
