How I Endured 2024 and What I Learned Along the Way
Self-Reflection shaped my 2024 and will define my 2025—Yours can too

2024 Reflections
It's True, Self-Reflection Can Shape Who You Are & What you Do Next.
Do I touch on everything? I contemplated for 3 whole days on how I was going to do this year’s reflection. There’s sooo much that happened!—personal & in the world—I want to talk about all of it. But if I do not taper myself I’ll either end up writing a novel for my year-end reflection or leaving out some really good stuff.
After all the back and forth, I landed on calling out a few moments we’ve shared based on stats plus those that I found to be especially impactful for me.

The Year Goals
The most fulfilling solutions are the ones that happen by mistake. Ever heard of Slack? Mistake. Facebook? Yep, mistake too—it was supposed to be the face of the college student app. Even Instagram didn’t start out with the intention of becoming what it is today.
The Goal: To attempt all the things I’ve considered getting into that were held back by fear.
First “thing”: Speak at grandma passing service at the beginning of 2024—checked. Next “thing”: Connect with old fam. After that? When I get back home, become a content creator “uh what?” I had just planned to create images and edit videos, thinking it’d all go viral. Haha, ok, I never actually thought that. Mostly, I wanted to go back under the hood of the powerful machine that is social media.
…I fully committed to a new journey. I told myself, "I'm going to see through this new year goal." I spent countless hours creating logos, choosing brand colors, defining my message, and setting up accounts. I even configured everything for all the social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, etc.) that I haven’t used in several years.
…
…It was a bit too much, especially with twin teenagers and a full-time job.
I pushed through anyway, learning a lot more about social media and what is popular today. I discovered more platforms and ways to monetize, finding it interesting and fun. However, I procrastinated in implementing these new strategies, yet hoped for better results. My confidence diminished as the first quarter passed with little learned and even less implemented.
…Well, maybe no more. [looking for a home] SubStack is bomb, lovely. Since I’ve found SubStack, I’m stuck reading and, well, now writing 🙂
I didn’t plan to write this much either. I did plan This year’s book reading goal and celebrated kids graduation, kids personal accomplishments, the eclipse, my nature photos habit, survived heat stroke, lost-now found family members, motivating others to accomplished their goals, new friends & connections…oh what a reflection.
I didn’t even expect to be graced by all of you wonderful subscribers to share this thinking space. Yeah, you lose some, but those of you still here, you’re the motivation for me to keep sharing my ideas and stories, thank you ♥️.
It’s not just Content, it’s writing
Well, as you know, I started writing this publication in July, hoping to just post once a month, not quite sure what I’d post. So, I took a deep breath and just posted. Then my multilayered thinking propel me to—as I know it now—find my voice while sharing my thoughts. Check out my top stories:
I’m so thankful and appreciative of the love I’ve gotten from y’all, especially knowing that everyone have busy lives with many things going on, yet you still took the time to read my work. I truly appreciate it.♥️
Welcome the Unknown
After “no more” the light shines:
The inability to move comes from fear of what you don’t know or haven’t accepted. Comfort comes from the confidence built by what you’ve consistently been doing; the compounded effect gained over time, so the bubble doesn’t burst all up in yo-face.
I ventured into the unknown & created this:

However, as I explored Substack and I love many of the features here, but I recently noticed some privacy stuff that concerns me. Not a big deal for extroverts or those who don’t mind living in public, but for me, not so much. For instance, Notes are always public, just like your public posts—there maybe some settings that I need to get more familiar with. Not complaining about the feature—it’s wonderful, but not my preference. As a result, I’ve decided I’ll need to change how I share my content.
I’ll have to make some changes that require me to edit, delete, or make some posts private (paid). Every subscriber I have here today has helped and motivated me to keep writing—even if you just joined yesterday—and I don’t want to loose any of you, even as FREE subscribers.
Moving forward, while I make my modifications, I wanted to ensure you all kept access to everything I’ve shared, including the paid versions. So here’s my holiday gift to you:
It’s in your email
That will give you a lot of time & access to everything.
I’ll be changing up my post theme for the new year, stay tuned. in the mean time take a look at few other publication I found insightful & a few other authors I’ve connected with:
You’ve made it till the end…❤️. Thank you
Make 2025 Yours.
